Two toddlers from the Charlotte area who were abducted Monday night were found, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety said.

An Amber Alert was issued for 1-year-old Aziyah Sana'a Garner and 3-year-old Dior Muhammad overnight.

Garner was located unharmed before 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, and Muhammad was found before 10:20 a.m., authorities said.

Her condition was not released.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and the state Department of Public Safety said the girls' father, 35-year-old Edward Garner, Sr., had abducted them after fatally shooting 28-year-old Aiesha Shantel Summers on Monday.

His son, 18-year-old son, Edward Garner, Jr., was in the car when the two toddlers were taken, although his role in the abduction was not clear.

Authorities did not say whether the two men were found. Edward Garner, Sr., was considered armed and dangerous, police said when the toddlers were missing.

The men had been believed to be in a white Mercedes Benz S430 with N.C. license plate HCV-1629.

Anyone with information on the incident can call Charlotte-Mecklenburg police at 704-353-0890.
