GARNER, N.C. — Wake County sheriff's deputies arrested one man and was looking for a second one after the two fled on foot during an attempted traffic stop Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

A deputy tried to pull over a vehicle in the area of 400 Creech Road in Garner around 2 p.m. because the car was driving erratically, a sheriff's office spokesman said.

The two men jumped from the car and ran moments before their car struck some trees and a curb.

The vehicle came to a stop in the wood line in the parking lot of the Solid Rock Ministry

Wake County Public School officials confirmed that Creech Road Elementary School, located at 450 Creech Road, was placed under a Code Yellow lockdown as the search unfolded, but it was lifted shortly thereafter.
