Search called off along Cape Fear River for missing cars
Officials finally called off the search for missing cars along the Cape Fear River. Dive teams, boats and other emergency crews were searching from Thursday night into Friday for cars that witnesses say ran off a Interstate 95 bridge during a road rage incident.

OUR FAYETTEVILLE REPORTER GILBERT BAEZ JOINS US LIVE AFTER RIDE WITH A BOAT WITH INVESTIGATORS ON THE SCENE.>>REPORTER: THAT IS RIGHT, WE'RE AT THE WILDLIFE BOAT RAMP NOT FAR FROM ARNETT PARK IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY AND YOU CAN SEE SOME OF THE EQUIPMENT AND THE BOATS ARE OUT IN THE WATER AND THIS IS THE BOAT RAMP HERE THE DIVERS HAVE BEEN IN THE WATER ALMOST ALL DAY BUT SO FAR NO LUCK. DIVE TEAMS HAVE SPENT THE DAY SEARCHING THE CAPE FEAR RIVER LOOKING FOR ONE OR TWO VEHICLES INVOLVED IN AN I-95 ACCIDENT NEAR THE BRIDGE AND HIGHWAY 87. >> THERE WAS A 911 CALL AND WITNESSES THAT SAID A VEHICLE LEFT THIS SIDE OF THE BRIDGE AND ALSO OFF THE LEFT-HAND SIDE OF THE BRIDGE. >> THE VEHICLES WOULD HAVE FALLEN ABOUT 75 FEET AND 18 FEET OF WATER THIS IS WHAT DIVE TEAMS ARE UP AGAINST. THE CAPE FEAR RIVER IS MURKY AND VISIBILITY IS POOR AND THE RIVERBED IS SCATTERED WITH LARGE PIECES OF DEBRIS FROM PAST HURRICANES WHICH IS SLOWING DOWN THE USE OF SONAR ON THE BOATS.>> THERE WILL BE A LOT OF DEBRIS PACKED IN AROUND THE BRIDGE AND IT DOESN'T NECESSARILY HAVE TO BE WOULD COME IT COULD BE A PIECE OF METAL OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT SO WE HAVE PINGS BUT THERE ARE NOTHING I WANT TO HONE IN ON.>> HE SPOKE WITH A MOTORIST WHO STOPPED HIS VEHICLE AND SLID DOWN THE ROCKY EMBANKMENT AND DOVE INTO THE WATER TO FIND ONE OF THE CARS AFTER SEEING BUBBLES THAT HE THOUGHT CAME FROM THE THINKING VEHICLE. SO FAR NO ONE HAS PRODUCED ANY PICTURES OF THE CAR IN THE WATER. NOW THE DIVE TEAMS WILL BE OUT HERE AT LEAST UNTIL DUSK OR UNTIL THEY FIND THE CAR IF IT COMES EARLIER. AS WE MENTIONED THERE WAS A 911 CALL AND THAT IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS THE DIVERS ARE IN THE WATER. COMING UP AT FIVE YOU HEAR FROM
