The Emerald Isle Sea Turtle Patrol posted about the incident on Facebook on Friday. The page noted the stakes around the nest were pulled up and broken with the nest having been walked across. A beer can was left nearby.
A police report was filed.
Harming a sea turtle nest is illegal. The patrol is a non-profit organization.
