Scratch bakery opens second Durham location
Known as "Baby Scratch," the location opened Wednesday.

DURHAM, N.C. — James Beard Award semi-finalist Phoebe Lawless has opened a second location of her popular Scratch bakery.
The newest Scratch location is next to Lawless' restaurant, The Lakewood, at 2022 Chapel Hill Road in the Historic Davis Baking Company Building. Scratch's original location is at 111 Orange St. in downtown Durham.
Known as "Baby Scratch," the bakery is open 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. daily and closed on Tuesdays.
Lawless has been a semifinalist for the James Beard Foundation’s Outstanding Pastry Chef award and Outstanding Baker.
