GARNER, N.C. — Homegrown country singer-songwriter Scotty McCreery's second album comes out Tuesday, a week before the Garner native performs a pair of concerts at the NC State Fair.
McCreery, winner of the 10th season of "American Idol," co-wrote five songs on "See You Tonight," including the title track. He called his sophomore release a "big step" from his 2011 Platinum debut "Clear As Day."

"I can't wait for everybody to hear it," McCreery said in a news release Monday. "With this album, I feel like I accomplished what I wanted to sound like and say."

McCreery will make the talk show rounds in New York this week before heading down to Nashville to celebrate at the Grand Ole Opry.

Next week, he comes home for two performances at the J.S. Dorton Arena in Raleigh, where he will croon his 13 new tracks to hometown fans.
