Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities on Friday charged a school cafeteria worker with embezzlement.
Shelia Harris, 45, of 6945 Cash Court in Godwin, was arrested Friday and was released on a $2,000 bond.
Harris, who worked as a cashier in Eastover Central Elementary School's cafeteria, was observed in a surveillance video Monday taking money from the cash register and placing it in her pocket, authorities said.
Between Sept. 4 and Feb. 25, more than $1,500 in cash and checks for meals from students and parents, was stolen from the cafeteria, authorities said.
