— No students were on board a school bus that collided Friday afternoon with a car, authorities said.

The incident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. at Yates Mill Pond and Tryon roads, authorities said.

Live pictures from the scene showed that a small red passenger car had severe damage to its front end after the crash although it was not immediately clear how the incident occurred.

Police have not yet said if anyone in the car was hurt.

Lisa Luten, a spokeswoman for Wake County public schools, said no students were on the bus and no other injuries were reported.
