COLUMBIA, S.C. — A South Carolina elementary school teacher is accused of having marijuana edibles in her student prize box.
Victoria Farish Weiss, a teacher at Rocky Creek Elementary School in Columbia, allowed two students to get a prize from the candy box on Sept. 23, and one grabbed a pack of “Stoney Patch Kids” gummies, believing they were Sour Patch Kids, NBC affiliate WIS reported.

Authorities said Weiss grabbed the pack from the student and told him to get something else, but he happened to grab another marijuana edible. A teacher at an afterschool care program noticed the pack of edibles and called authorities.

No students consumed any of the edibles.

Weiss, 27, was fired and charged with possession of a Schedule 1 drug.
