DURHAM, N.C. — State and local authorities, as well as forensics experts, searched an area off Briggs Avenue in Durham on Monday.

Durham police and the State Bureau of Investigation declined to comment on the search.

Experts from North Carolina State University were asked to bring special equipment to assist in the search.

The search area is a few miles from a home on Pear Tree Lane where two missing people, including a 5-year-old boy, were known to have lived.

Jadon Higganbothan was last seen in October, and Antoinetta McKoy, 28, was reported missing in February.

Investigators have said they believe both were killed in the Pear Tree Lane house, but no one has been charged in the case.
