Raleigh's Cameron Village will hold its holiday open house from 5 p.m .to 8 p.m., Thursday.

The evening includes live music, a real snow sliding slope, clowns and jugglers, gifts for kids, a visit from Santa and more. You'll find free cookies and cider at five tents scattered across the shopping area too.

Of course, the big event is Santa's arrival. He'll be at the CV Meet Up space next to Cantina 18 on Daniels Street starting around 5:15 p.m. for visits and photos (bring your own camera). At 5 p.m., Santa will parade through the village led by the Cardinal Gibbons Drum Line.

According to Cameron Village's website, the best parade viewing spots are by Village Deli, Fifi's on Cameron Street, the Sugarland to Uniquities section on Cameron Street, the Uniquities to Wardrobbe section on Daniels Street and the Bailey's to Cantina 18 stretch on Daniels Street.

In related information, Sugarland, which opened up at Cameron Village in April, is my new favorite place to satisfy any cupcake and gelato cravings.
