Sanford woman tried to set house on fire during argument
A woman is accused of trying to start a fire after an argument over a laptop, according to Sanford police.
Posted — UpdatedSANFORD, N.C. — A woman is accused of trying to start a fire after an argument over a laptop, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded to domestic dispute at a home on Soco Lane on Wednesday at 5 a.m., police said, after a woman reported Shelia Renee Johns poured lighter fluid on the bedroom floor and set it on fire.
Approximately $1,000 worth of damage was reported. The woman and Johns live together in the home, authorities said.
Johns was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree arson. She was being held with no bond.
