Sanford restaurant owner facing drug charges

The owner of La Sirenas restaurant in Sanford is facing multiple drug charges.

SANFORD, N.C. — A Sanford restaurant owner is facing drug charges following a multi-agency investigation, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said Friday.

Armando Moreno Sanchez, 44, of 183 Moody Road, is charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamines by possession, two counts of trafficking methamphetamines by sale, two counts of trafficking methamphetamines by delivery, two counts of felony maintaining a store being used for unlawfully keeping or selling controlled substances and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sanchez, the owner of La Sirenas restaurant in Sanford, was held under a $25,000 bond.

Authorities did not provide details of the investigation, which included Lee and Moore county sheriff’s offices, the State Bureau of Investigations, Sanford police, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
