Sanford police say three recovering after being shot Saturday

Sanford police were investigating after they found three people with gunshot wounds after responding to a call late Friday night.

SANFORD, N.C. — Sanford police were investigating after they found three people with gunshot wounds after responding to a call late Friday night.

Police were called to 428 Goldsboro Ave. in Sanford Friday night in reference to a shooting. Police found out three victims had left the scene and were at Central Carolina Hospital.

Darrion Antwon McIver, 24, from Sanford, Marvin Levern Tucker, 46, from Sanford and Steven Anthony Lyles, 63, from Sanford sustained gunshot wounds while in the yard, police said. McIver was treated and released from the hospital while Tucker and Lyles were transferred to UNC Chapel Hill Hospital for treatment. Tucker and Lyles were listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Sanford Police Department at (919) 777-1051.
