Sanford man stabbed to death during home break-in

Police arrested two men in the slaying of a 29-year-old man during a home break-in early Saturday morning.

SANFORD, N.C. — Police arrested two men in the slaying of a 29-year-old man during a home break-in early Saturday morning.

Investigators said Tereso DeJesus Benitez Alvarez, 35, of 227 Temple Ave., and Jose Amparo Alvarez, 28, of 323 Midland Ave., broke into a home at 809 Lot 9 Hawkins Ave.

Tereso Alvarez stabbed Rodolfo Nolqsco Chavez, 29, of Lot 5 Thornwood MHP, in the chest numerous times, police said.

Tereso and Jose Alvarez were both arrested later that day. They each face charges of murder and first-degree burglary.

Bond was denied to both men.

Tereso Alvarez had served probation for 2003 conviction for assaulting a female.
