Sanford man charged with child rape gets $4 million bond
A Sanford man was charged Thursday with statutory rape of a child.
Posted — UpdatedSANFORD, N.C. — A Sanford man was charged Thursday with three counts of statutory rape.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office said Mario Darrell Williams, 43, was charged with 1 count of statutory rape of a child by an adult, 2 counts of statutory rape of a child less than 15 years of age, 2 counts of statutory sexual offense with a child by an adult, 4 counts of statutory sexual offense with a child less than 15 years of age and 1 count of and indecent liberties with a child.
His arrest came Thursday after deputies secured a search warrant.
Williams received a $4.1 million secured bond was being held in the Lee County Jail.
