SANFORD, N.C. — A Food Lion manager was injured overnight trying to stop two people from breaking inside his store.

The Harnett County Sheriff's Office responded to the Food Lion on Buffalo Lake Road Tuesday night after 11 p.m., when the store had just closed.

According to a deputy, around 12 employees were still inside the store when two people tried to break inside.

The store manager fought back and was cut by one of the attempted intruders. Deputies said the manager went to a hospital but is expected to be okay.
