Sanford Dad Faces Child Abuse Charge

SANFORD, N.C. — A Sanford man has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault on his 8-month-old infant.
Lee County sheriff's deputies saud they were called to Sanford Medical Group on Wednesday to investigate after the baby was found to have severe bruising on its head.
Jeffrey Paul Blakeslee, 25, of 250 Lillie Lane, was arrested and charged with one count of felony child abuse. He was held under a $50,000 secured bond.
Authorities said the child's mother, whose name was not released, was at work at the time. The couple does not live together, and the mother had left the child with Blakeslee, officials said.
