Sampson inmate charged in death of Fayetteville man

Glen Simmons 20, was charged Friday with first degree murder in the death of Codis Ezekiel Simmons. Glen Simmons is being held in the Sampson County Jail on charges of attempted murder and robbery.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A suspected has been charged in the August death of a 29-year-old Fayetteville man.

Glen Simmons 20, was charged Friday with first degree murder in the death of Codis Ezekiel Simmons. Glen Simmons is being held in the Sampson County Jail on charges of attempted murder and robbery.

The two men are not related, officers said.

Codis Simmons’ body was found at Lamon and Ann streets on Aug. 30. He had been shot.

Police said robbery was a motive in the slaying.

It was unknown if Glen Simmons would be transferred to the Cumberland County Detention Center.
