CLINTON, N.C. — Sampson County officials on Friday dedicated a new Law Enforcement Center.

The $11.1 million facility is state of the art. It has 250 jail beds, more than triple the 75 beds in the old jail.

The center was built to ease chronic overcrowding, fire dangers and improve safety for inmates and deputies.

Inmates will be moved to the new facility in the next week or two.
