"The Rusty Bucket Kids," a new family-friendly TV show which will premiere on WRAL-TV at noon on Saturday and at the CoolKidz Expo, is looking for some local actors to appear in future episodes.

The casting call is at the expo on Sunday. Registration starts at 10 a.m. Auditions begin at noon. All expo attendees ages 8 years or older can audition on a first come, first served basis. A later casting call may be scheduled.

The show is produced in Apex and will feature some well-known local personalities, including WRAL-TV's Mark Roberts and former WRAL news anchor Charles Gaddy. Read more about the show in this earlier post.
If you're interested in the auditions, it's worth checking out the FAQ page for details.

I also had the chance to ask Kevin Robert McDermott some questions. He wrote and directed the pilot episode and is a Hollywood youth talent coach, whose coached talent has been nominated or won 15 major awards, including the Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe.

Go Ask Mom: What are you looking for?
McDermott: Everyone 8 years old and up. We want children, teens and adults. All ethnicities and physical types are welcome.
GAM: Does my child need to have experience acting if he wants to audition?
McDermott: No experience is necessary.
GAM: What should people bring, if anything?
McDermott: You can bring a headshot and resume (please attach) if you have one. If you do not have one, do not worry since we'll be taking photos of each actor. Remember to wear the numbered tag in a visible area of your shirt. This will ensure that we are able to identify you for possible future callbacks.
GAM: Any audition tips?
McDermott: Your natural spirit and unique personality is your best asset. Parents should allow their child to say the lines their own way. You will read a short scene consisting of several lines and you will have the opportunity to read with Scott Andrew Taylor, one of the stars of the pilot. You will have time to learn the lines and bring your unique personality to the read while waiting for your turn in the waiting area.
