Likes Best About North Carolina:

From growing up along the shore of Lake Michigan to briefly living along the Southwest Florida coast, the beach is one of my favorite views. On the other hand, hiking in the Natural State (Arkansas) with both the Ozarks and the Ouachitas is the other. Naturally, North Carolina has both the beach and the mountains and it’s simply one of a kind.

More About Zach:
As a Chicago native I love the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks! I also now love the Durham Bulls and Carolina Hurricanes!

People always ask “how did you ever get into meteorology?” Well, it’s simple. I grew up watching the Chicago news and always loved having the news on. So much so that while in middle and high school my TV was always set to wake me up to WGN Morning News. I always knew the forecast just because I watched the news and I quickly became the “go-to” person for weather questions. Passion was evident from the start and it is completely evident in my weather forecasts on TV today. Weather is amazing, challenging and humbling … there is always something new to learn and always a new way to figure out and explain why it may rain on your weekend!
