Rowland woman shot and killed while in car, sheriff's office investigating

The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a woman while she was in her car.

Family members took Mary Lynn Strong, 46, of Rowland, to UNC Health Lumberton after she was shot Monday near Highway 710 South and Tom M. Road. Medical personnel pronounced Strong dead at the hospital.
