ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A 31-year-old Rocky Mount woman faces charges of second-degree murder and domestic violence.

Police say Christine Hana Jackson and Jemonte Donell Spragley, 27, were arguing in the backyard of a home at 536 Powell Drive on Friday night.

Authorities said Jackson went inside and locked the door. Spragley broke the glass door and entered.

Jackson assaulted Spragley in the neck with a knife.

Spragley was transported to Nash General Hospital where he died.

When personnel from the Crime Scene Evidence Unit and Criminal Investigation Division responded to process the crime scene and investigate the incident, several marijuana plants were found on the property.
