Rocky Mount police probe shooting

A Rocky Mount man was shot outside his apartment on Rose Street Thursday night, police said.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A Rocky Mount man was shot outside his apartment Thursday night, police said.

Zakiy Ahmad McClain, 27, ran to a neighbor's house for help after being shot at 509-A Rose St. shortly before 11:30 p.m.

McClain was taken to Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville and remained in critical condition.

Police said they continue to investigate the shooting.
