Rocky Mount police make arrest in bar fight, shooting

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — Rocky Mount police announced Tuesday that a man wanted on murder charges in the city was arrested in Baltimore. Royal Rakem Williams is accused of shooting and killing another man during a fight at the Night Life Bar and Grill last September.

He also faces charges of possession of a handgun, discharging a firearm in city limits, being in a nightclub as a minor and carrying a weapon into a place where alcohol is sold.

Williams is the third man to be arrested in the death of Ryan Craig Bobbitt, 24.

Police say that Williams shot Bobbitt with a handgun during a fight among seven to eight people at the club, at 821 Country Club Road. 

Jhimaal McKeith Lasco, 19, Kenny Maliek Bynum, 29, and Doron Terrel Alston, 28, have been arrested on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in connection with Bobbitt's death.

The night club's owner, Thomas Benson, has said that he and the property's landlord have agreed that no nightclub or bar will ever again be allowed to open at that address.
