Rocky Mount police investigating after person shot

— Rocky Mount police said a person was sent to the hospital after being shot Thursday evening.

Police responded to the intersection of Goldrock Road and Greyson Road at around 4:50 p.m. Officers assisted the victim until Nash County EMS arrived on the scene and took the victim to Nash Health Care.

The victim’s identity was being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The Rocky Mount Police Department is currently investigating leads in the case.
