The Rocky Mount city council voted to remove and store the Confederate monument at Battle Park by a 7-1 vote on Monday.
Posted — UpdatedROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — The Rocky Mount city council voted to remove and store the Confederate monument at Battle Park by a 7-1 vote on Monday.
Last week, council members chose in a budget session to remove it.
Monday's vote makes the removal official.
Councilman W.B. Bullock was the only member to vote against it.
