ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A troubled theater in Roanoke Rapids has an official operator.

Elizabeth Branham, president of Taymac Productions LLC, said Thursday that she signed an agreement with the Roanoke Rapids City Council on Tuesday making her the operator.

She had been unofficially running the theater since October, she said.

The city owns the $21.5 million, 1,500-seat facility, which has been plagued with financial and mismanagement issues since it opened in 2005.
