Roanoke Rapids Man Charged With Sex Offenses
The Halifax County Sheriffs Office has charged a Roanoke Rapids man with 18 felony counts of sex offenses.

ROANOKE RAPIDS — The Halifax County Sheriffs Office has charged a Roanoke Rapids man with 18 felony counts of sex offenses.
The charges range from first-degree statutory rape, statutory, sexual offense by a parental role and indecent liberties with a child.
The report was filed last week by the alleged victim and her mother.
Zyrl Demont Sledge, 39, was arrested without incident. He was held on a $75,000 bond, authorities said.
The dates of the alleged offenses in the case range from 1999 through 2001.
