Roanoke Rapids man arrested on drug charges
The Halifax County Sheriff's Office arrested a Roanoke Rapids man Saturday after a traffic stop led to the discovery of crack cocaine in his car, authorities said.
Posted — UpdatedJames Keith Nelson, 21, of Matthews Street, was pulled over on Key Street in the Lincoln Heights area. Authorities searched the car and found a small amount of crack and over $2,100 in cash, according to the sheriff's office.
Nelson was charged with possession of crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to wear a seat belt and driving while license revoked.
He was given a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court April 6.
