RALEIGH, N.C. — Not everyone can stay up until midnight to ring in 2024.

For families wanting to get their kids in bed on time, you have a few options to still celebrate the end of 2023.

WRAL First Night

WRAL First Night Raleigh is happening Dec. 31 in downtown Raleigh. Activities include live music, crafts, magic, comedy and more across 20 blocks of downtown. The annual New Year's Eve celebration in downtown Raleigh will begin at 2 p.m. with the children's celebration on Fayettville Street between Morgan and West Hargett streets.

Live music on the outdoor main stage will start at 6 p.m. Around that time, the People's Parade will roll through the streets leading up to the Early Countdown and acorn drop at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks.

Tickets are $16 for adults and $12 for children ages 6 to 12 in advance via Etix or at certain Harris Teeter stores. Children under 5 years old are admitted to First Night for free.

Marbles Kids Museum's Noon Year's Eve

Head to this downtown Raleigh museum to explore New Year's traditions from around the world and count down to the New Year at noon with a confetti cannon and bubble wrap fireworks. The celebration is included in your museum admission.

Kidzu Children's Museum's Noon Year's Eve

Have a ball with Kidzu this New Years’ Eve. Bounce in and ring in 2024 Kidzu style with a twist on the traditional ball drop. They will count down to the new year at noon and celebrate with bubbles and special activities. The event is included with museum admission, but advance registration is highly encouraged. Walkins will be welcome as space allows. You can register now online.

Museum of Life and Science Noon Year's Eve

Get a head start in celebrating the New Year at the museum from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Create a New Year’s craft, dance to the music, witness a liquid nitrogen demonstration and count down to a special ball drop at noon. The activities are included with your museum admission.
