Reward offered in New Year's Day slaying in Durham

Crime Stoppers on Monday offered a reward for information leading to an arrest in a Jan. 1 homicide on Ivy Street.

DURHAM, N.C. — Crime Stoppers on Monday offered a reward for information leading to an arrest in a Jan. 1 homicide on Ivy Street.

Police officers responding to a disturbance in the 1300 block of Ivy Street at about 4:40 a.m. found Juan Castillo-Castillo, 26, of Bingham Street in Durham, shot in the chest and lying in the back of a Ford pickup truck. He died at Duke University Hospital.

No charges have been filed in the case, and the investigation is ongoing.
