DURHAM, N.C. — The Governor's Office is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in a March slaying, police said.

Sean Kali Buwe, 18, of Sima Street, was killed March 26 on Liberty Street, police said.

According to witnesses, Buwe was walking down the street when a man in dark clothing got out of a burgundy van or SUV, walked up behind Buwe and shot him. Witnesses said the shooter then fled in the vehicle, which was driven by another person.

Police said they hope the reward will entice people who might have information about the case to come forward.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Sgt. Jack Cates of the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4440, extension 262, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
