Reward offered in attacks on women

Durham Crime Stoppers has offered a reward for information leading to an arrest in two attacks on women in the 3700 block of Meriwether Drive in the past three weeks.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham Crime Stoppers has offered a reward for information leading to an arrest in two attacks on women in the 3700 block of Meriwether Drive in the past three weeks.

A woman told police that she was walking around 12:30 a.m. March 9 when a man grabbed her, threatened to cut her and then sexually assaulted her.

A second woman told police that a man grabbed her while she was walking to the bus stop around 5:30 a.m. on March 24. The man threatened her and tried to drag her into the woods, but she fought him off and ran away.

The women described their attacker as a man in his 20s, between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall. He has a dark complexion and a medium to large build. He was wearing dark clothing and a dark, hooded jacket.
