In the last few months, I have significantly reduced my sugar intake so when I received an offer from Lemonette® Dressings a couple weeks ago to sample their no sugar dressings, I was intrigued.

This lemon-based alternative to vinegar-based, cream-based, or soy-based dressings is vinegar-free, vegan, non-GMO Project Verified, and contains no sugar (or sweeteners of any kind), no artificial colors or preservatives, and no MSG’s.

According to the company, "This line of products is all about clean, simple, plant-powered ingredients that taste fresh and homemade."

Lemonette® Dressings are available in four flavors including Mediterranean Herb, Italian Herb, Lemon Garlic, and Zesty Cumin, They work well as a dressing for both warm or cold salads, marinades, grilling sauces, cooking sauces, and more, according to the company.

Full disclosure: I received two bottles of Lemonette® Dressings at no cost including Zesty Cumin and Lemon Garlic.

I put each dressing on salads for a couple nights in a row to see how they compared.

The Lemon Garlic dressing is the lighter of the two I tried. I absolutely adore garlic so I was anxious to see how this tasted. It has a fresh lemon flavor that is balanced nicely by the garlic and pepper. I really like that it is not heavy on the sunflower oil, which is why the dressing has only 50 calories and 5 grams of fat for 2 tablespoons.

It was excellent on the salad you see below and I have used it a number of times in the last week on salads and on sauteed veggies.

The Zesty Cumin has more of a kick than the Lemon Garlic, but in a good way, I thought. It was delicious on the salad and I plan to use it this week as a marinade for cubed extra firm tofu and vegetables that I'll saute on a skillet.

On the Lemonette® Dressings website, the bottles are $6.99 each. I checked the price on my local Sprouts website in Durham, NC and they were actually on sale for less at the time of this post.

I will likely purchase both of these flavors in the future, although I think I will pick up the Italian Herb next because it includes garlic, onion, chili pepper and dried red bell pepper, which sounds like a wonderful combination.
