ANGIER, N.C. — A retired nurse from Angier said she "never misses a chance" to play Cash 5. It paid off, when on Wednesday she won a $115,497 prize.

Evelyn Burbridge said she bought one Cash 5 ticket for "every day of the week."

Like she always does, Burbridge picked up her tickets at a T-Mart Food Stores on North Raleigh Street in Angier.

"I've been playing the same numbers for months," she said.

She woke up the next morning and watched the TV to find out her lucky numbers worked -- she was a winner.

"I could not believe those were my numbers," she said. "I got up, checked my ticket, and it was correct."

The odds of her winning was nearly one in a million.

Burbridge claimed half of her prize at the lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After federal and state tax withholdings, she took home over $81,000.

"I am going to share some of it with my grandchildren and children," she said. "The rest of it I'm going to do whatever I want with it."
