SEABOARD, N.C. — The residents of a Northampton County nursing home who tested positive for coronavirus just about two weeks ago are all recovering, county health director Andy Smith said.
Pine Forest Rest Home in Potecasi had 24 confirmed cases of the virus, and all of those residents are recovering, Smith said.

A man who spent only about 10 days there died in Virginia. Elizabeth Glascock, said her father, James Glascock, spent "a little over a week" at the facility in Northampton County. He arrived there on March 12 and was taken to a hospital in Virginia on March 20.

James Glascock had had health issues for months, including heart problems and blood clots in his legs and lungs, according to his daughter. He had moved among various hospitals and rehabilitation centers.

Pine Forest Rest Home banned all visitors effective March 10 as a precaution and tested 35 people, Smith said.

The Northampton facility was the first in North Carolina to report a cluster of coronavirus cases. Since that time, the virus has blossomed in long-term care facilities across the state.
