RALEIGH, N.C. — The results are in, and it's good news for the City of Raleigh.

In November of 2020, the city partnered with ECT Institute to gauge community satisfaction on a range of issues that impacting quality of life. A total of 1,036 residents completed the survey.

Eighty-nine percent of residents who participated in the 2020 Community Survey said Raleigh is an "excellent" or "good" place to live. Participants also gave high ratings for overall quality of life in neighborhoods, as a place to work, a place for young professionals and a place to raise children.

The least satisfaction was with the overall value received for city tax dollars and fees.

Eighty-two percent of respondents said they were either "very likely" or "likely" to recommend living in Raleigh to someone.

Respondents say the biggest issues facing the city over the next five years is the pace of growth, affordable housing and transportation.

In the survey, 83 percent of participants said they didn't use the GoRaleigh bus system in the past 18 months. Only 3 percent of participants said they used the transit system "frequently" or "very frequently."
