ReOpenNC calls for removal of Gov. Roy Cooper
Leader of the group ReOpenNC, which was originally formed in opposition against the state's stay-at-home order, is calling for the Gov. Roy Cooper to be impeached on the streets of downtown Raleigh.
right. All right. I think the 10 and 11 maybe 12 years. Thank you. Right? Right. No, that's fine. If you want to save 25 and like that said that could be it could have been delivered by you. Saw how long it takes your competence. Plastic young. Hi. Like you need a photo talking, right? There's nobody up there. Yeah, well, unless I'm living in a time warp, it is past eight o'clock. Right? Way. Had I had eight oclock. Is the press conference time? Oh, yeah. Yes, Sure. Okay. Is it? They're gonna go. Are you okay? Okay. All right. Yeah. Yeah, that. But wait. All right, listen. Right? Yeah, of way. Need to ask where they on a teaching Roy Cooper. Way wanted. Yes. Way. Want to know there's no answer or an argument? Action and name that if you're not willing to. All right. So I don't know how many are way brought paper. You're gonna eat that? Anybody here too familiar with the building? Wait. So everything they're doing today is about It's not about schools opening for this is in the master. Anything? It's just about there. We need to ask that too. I need to put on the record because you're going to leave today. They're going home. We're going to. So the only thing they're here for today people education. Okay, that good enough, Right? I agree. I agree. But is there any way we can forced today to talk about what they've done to businesses? Because they did that way. We all know that illegally forcing business to police their community. And that is 100% wrong. Boy, don't pay. My Children said the clashes with Master Wayne Way mediated by throughout the middle. This is older. Yeah. I don't understand. Are they coming yet? Like, Yeah, What? We're doing good. We're all star. Aleppo or not, you're fast. Wait, So you're released back here? Always trust the media guy. How are you, by the way? Oh, no. Go out. Oh, yeah, right. Yeah. All right. Sorry to hear that. How's your golf vacation? Good. Just be just two minutes. I like. Yeah, Just Yeah. Check. Check, check, Check, check. Good. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. One minute. No, actually, my coworkers. Right there. Okay, people, you know people. You guys tell me when you're OK. Get a girl. Yeah, That Sharp. 22. Got it? Ready? Ready. Good morning. Thank you, guys for being here. Roy Cooper's consistent violations to hit up his oath of office and repeated injury to our United States and North Carolina Constitution bring us here today. But we have a few questions for those that support Cooper. What if Roy Cooper had managed nursing homes better? Would there be less death and family despair? What if Cooper had led like an American and acted constitutionally leading all parties together in this pandemic rather than dividing, upholding our values and our freedom and liberty? Would we be pitted against each other like this in a time of crisis? What if Cooper held all North Carolinians to the same standards of liberty and justice for all E. I was arrested for daring to step on the sidewalk. Yet Cooper rolled out the red carpet for Marxists, antifa movements, riders who destroyed our streets wise. Where is the justice for the business? They have called me terrified to reopen, with no money to replace their windows, asking what can be done to protect their businesses In every stage of these oppressions, we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms. Our repeated petitions have been honey have been answered only by repeated injury, Right? This is a clear failure of leadership. Why would any elected official want to hitch their wagons to these repeated injuries? Exactly what Governor who is outside of the bounds of law? A court stacked with socialist judges legislating from the bench, the only folks to say our state for my Democratic Socialist takeover is the North Carolina General Assembly. Jobs we ask, Are they willing to relinquish their political power to Cooper, like the judicial branch has so far? That seems to be the case. Our Declaration of independence says that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people toe alter or to abolish its and to institute new government. Theo Foundation on such principles and organizing its power in such form as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness. Never did we think that history would repeat itself in their form, which has led us to take the following action. We have asked each elected official of the NCGA to tell us where do you stand with the people who are suffering or with Cooper. The NCGA is the last stand between the people of North Carolina and a takeover by Democratic Socialists. Failure to respond with a yes, we will Impeach is the side of a lawmaker who is complicity with Roy Cooper and the Democratic Socialist Party that has managed to take control of our states. With the election just four months away. You certainly don't want this stigma to make its way to your constituents. Carolina must act now, Governor, that is working under the rule of law. People do not. I think that you can just vote him out in November. Why do you think we will have a constitutionally based election if we do not even have a functioning government working under the rule of law currently in our state? Okay, actually, you mentioned folks in government work. Which laws do you believe? Governor Cooper? He didn't have the concurrence of the Council of State on any of his executive orders related to the shutdown of restaurants and bars or the initial executive orders. That's why Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest has a lawsuit against him currently for breaking the law on multiple occasions. Yes, a lawsuit. He's an individual filing a lawsuit as lieutenant governor against the governor with the balance of power that he's trying to bring a checks and balances back to our state along the way have the right to peacefully right. Businesses is a people Sesno writing and looting businesses in our streets and let them run free. It won't work way. Peaceable assembly not riding in the streets. This is peaceably assemble All right when it goes Rajan pieces thrown out the window. But yet Cooper walks around with them and violates his own executive order. Another question. I'm asking everybody the question lawmakers about what makes them for something like this. We have, yes, and we've had several who are supporting supportive of moving to impeach way. Have a few meetings scheduled for today is already they. Are you working with lawmakers on drafting? There are articles of impeachment within our Constitution that are already standing. So we're working under those existing constitutional Uh, are we naming names? If you were meeting with, I think we'll put that out later Way have meetings way also want to say that the Constitution Party of North Carolina has also submitted articles of impeachment to Tim or which seems like those are falling on deaf ears. So we'll be here today to discuss that as well. You say it's your name? Yes. Ashley Smith. A s h l e y s m I t h. The founder and CEO of Reopen and see. All right, All right. Today, as of this morning, we have, I think, 5500 signatures to impeach. And we just started this about 72 hours ago. Way plan to hand them to speak or more. Whether or not he'll come out and take them from us is a different issue. So we'll see Requested that he received these in person. And he did receive our last petitions as a did Not personally, but they did come out and received them. So we've been told today's schedule is very busy and maybe they don't have time to see us, So we'll see how that goes. We'll see. They can see us on our website reopened and see now dot com where they can go to our public Facebook page, reopened and see on Facebook. And our petition will depend at the top. That remains to be seen Kind of what response we have. We're going to continue to try Teoh, get our legislators to say where they stand. Did I support Cooper or do they support you know, the people? I mean, in this case, what we've seen as we've stated, as these unconstitutional orders are against people and against liberty in our state, we don't have a balance of power with three branches of government. So we're gonna continue to work to restore the balance of power and constitutional rule of law to our state. Really, by whatever means are available to us. So it's going to depend on it, the ncga what their next steps are if they leave today. You know what? What avenues were still available? We're gonna continue, Captain. Which is way? Yes. Yeah, So here. No. Okay, everybody. Yes, but the place I don't know way. Okay, So what? We want todo cae legislators as they're coming into the building. And we've just been given word that they're coming in through the downstairs entrance at the cafeteria. So we're gonna try to make our way down there, and as they're coming in, we're gonna ask everyone individually. Do they support or oppose and teaching over. It's a simple yes or no answer. If you get a response, we don't get it. We're trying to take note of everybody. We are gonna Yes. Is that normal for them to come to the cafeteria? And that's where the parking decades. So there is, like underground there, sneaking way. Don't see anyone coming in. There are other opportunities to walk. These holes are being the rotunda, as they go into session was worry about 10 11 oclock. There will still be plenty of time to do everything we can. Wait. You make ourselves No. No way. Where are okay? Sure. I love you. Sure. We're going down there on camera? Yes. Last time they were coming later, something down here that kept me alive until six. I mean, I we're done. Now. You take master. Yeah. Okay. Huh? Coming downstairs. Okay. Well, you know what I've been before, All right? If anybody has a bag way here again What? Right. Yeah. Thank you. That it? You think Thank you. I mean, it looks Yeah,
