In 2018, customers don't have to rent cars from big companies anymore. Now, people can rent a car from another person or rent out their car to make money.

Three free apps

Turo lets you rent cars or trucks whenever and wherever you want. It covers more than 4,500 cities and towns across the U.S. and connects you with locals who want to rent out their vehicle. Turo can also deliver the vehicle directly to you and lets you list your own car for rental. Turo is free for IOS and Android.
Zipcar is another option if you need to borrow a car for a while -- it's been around almost 20 years and offers same-day reservations. Insurance and fuel costs are included in the rate. Zipcar is free for IOS and Android.
If you're looking for an adventure, Outdoorsy will let you rent an RV! Just enter your location and it will show you RVs you can rent from nearby owners.

The package even includes 24/7 roadside assistance and insurance!
