RALEIGH, N.C. — WRAL anchor Renee Chou loves being a mom to her soon to be 6 year old daughter, Elsa.
"I just never thought that I could love this much and be loved like this. I mean so much joy, so much joy, and I waited a long time for her," Renee said on Wednesday's Out and About Podcast.
Renee and her husband tried for three and half years to conceive a baby. She has been open about dealing with infertility and, in recent years, the loss of a pregnancy at 12 weeks.
Infertility is one of the things that created a bond between Renee and myself. I had a three year battle with secondary infertility before turning to IVF to have my daughter. We had pregnancy losses around the same time as each other. We cried together. That is what makes seeing her with Elsa so special. I see how much joy Elsa has brought her parents.

Renee lights up when she talks about her little "mini-me," who is celebrating her 6th birthday this weekend. What does Elsa want? Chocolate cake and lots of hugs and kisses from mom and dad.
