Remnants of Julia expected to meander off NC coast for days; no rain in Triangle

— A tropical depression off the coast has one again strengthened into Tropical Storm Julia and is expected to meander off the coast of the Carolinas and dissipate by early next week.

Thursday afternoon, the system has maximum sustained winds of about 35 mph and it was centered about 125 miles south-southeast of Charleston, S.C.

The depression was moving east at 8 mph but was expected to slow later in the day Thursday.

No coastal warnings or watches as a result of the system.
