This recipe was given to me by my dear friend Dan. This is the easiest rib recipe I’ve ever made.

Dan-the-Man’s Ribs

1 rack St Louis Ribs
¼ cup dry rub of your choosing
1 Cup BBQ Sauce of your choosing

Tin Foil

Preheat oven to 250 degrees, move rack to middle lower section of oven.

Using a sharp knife, remove the silver skin from the ribs. Use the tip of the knife and slide it under the shiny membrane to loosen. Grip the loosened membrane with a paper towel and pull off. This takes a while, but if you skip this step you’ll have tough ribs.

Rub your ribs all over with your dry rub. Be sure it’s good and coated in every nook and cranny.

Wrap your ribs up in tin foil, place on a cookie sheet, put it in the oven for 2 hours.

Unwrap the ribs. Slather the BBQ sauce liberally on both sides of the ribs. Be sure to reserve some for basting later. Wrap it back up, put back in oven for another 2 hours.

Open the foil, baste the ribs in BBQ sauce, place back in oven uncovered for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, repeat basting and putting it back in the oven uncovered for 30 minutes.

Using a pair of tongs, pinch the ribs in the center, lift it a couple inches of the tray and give it a slight shake. The ends should bounce a little (or some of the bones will fall off) and that’s how you know it’s done!
