The elves are back to work - in the North Pole, of course, and right here in the Triangle.

Triangle parents can sign their kids up for elf encounters thanks to a business I wrote about last year. The Elves is the brainchild of owner and founder Stephen Lair, perhaps better known as the father of the Lair family, which made headlines three years ago when the video for their gender reveal went viral and eventually landed them a guest spot on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. Lair and his wife, Cher, now have seven boys and one girl, age toddler to teens.
Lair tells me that the first season for The Elves went so well that the business is back this year and scheduling "elves" to pop in to homes across the Triangle to delight children with almost direct contact Santa. Lair said they've made a few changes on the backend to ensure a smooth customer experience.

"Other than that, the individual elf encounters will still be personalized for every family with all of the info that only Santa could’ve known," Lair said. "We’re excited that a bunch of our first year families have already booked their elf encounters for this year. That was our hope. That we would become part of a new holiday tradition."

The visits began Friday, Nov. 23, and will continue through Dec. 23. The price ranges from $75 for two children to $90 during the week leading up to Christmas. It's typically best for kids ages 3 to 7 and encounters run for about 15 minutes each.

If kids no longer believe, according to The Elves' website, "any non-believers present during the Elf Encounter will be gently teased and asked not to interfere with the magic of moment."

If you're ready to send in The Elves, so to speak, check their website.
