RDU launches nonstop flight to San Francisco via Virgin America
The Raleigh-Durham International Airport announced Thursday that it will add a daily nonstop flight to San Francisco on Virgin America.
Posted — UpdatedThe daily flight will depart RDU on an Airbus A320 jet at 9:15 a.m. starting Oct. 19. A redeye flight will leave San Francisco at 11:30 p.m. and arrive back in Raleigh at 7:30 a.m. the following day.
Virgin America, owned by Alaska Airlines, will be the 10th airline serving RDU. New nonstop flights to New Orleans and Austin, Texas, were announced earlier this year.
More customers than ever chose RDU to start their vacation or business trip in 2016. A little more than 11 million people traveled through RDU, an all-time record.
