Harnett County Sheriff Wayne County speaks with Gilbert Baez after an officer-involved shooting that left one man injured.
Well, the call came in at 12. 41 hours. Shots fired. Um, and it was an officer involved shooting, Uh, the suspects of the local hospital. Uh, understanding was in surgery, uh, in stable condition on Basically, that's all we have right now. Um, we'll have more is tomorrow gets here or later tonight. Maybe the FBI and any further questions will, uh, refer them to the FBI. But I will also make a statement as well. Where is this? And what part of the town is this? We're in the western part of the county over here on Alpine and, uh, tinge in road. Um uh, it it happened like I said about 12. 41 hours. The 911 tape. I'm sure you all get that, but, uh, that's where we're at right now. Right now, this person is not deceased. Thio in stable condition at this time as we talked earlier that these things take on their their own course on social media. And it's important for folks to be, um, patient here with investigation. He talked about that a little bit and give the community a sense of being calm here. Sure. And the scene is calm up there. Uh, and you know, we've told him Let let the investigation take place, and there's been nothing but transparency out there. I mean, it is what it is. Um, but, you know, it is Come up. They're not Not many people, some family members. But that's what we we've always asking, you know, we've had during these last few months, we've had some several protests have all been peaceful. We've got good people here. Um, but just we asked everybody. Let the investigation take horse. We've called the FBI and to do the investigation. Just anytime officer involved shooting.
