Randolph County man charged after puppies found in trash bag

The Randolph County Sheriff's Office has charged a man after someone found puppies in a trash bag.

ASHEBORO, N.C. — The Randolph County Sheriff's Office has charged a man after someone found puppies in a trash bag.

Nathan Paul Baker, 46, was charged with felony cruelty to animals on Dec. 4.

The Randolph County Animal Control Services Division was contacted on Nov. 16 after someone found four puppies tied inside in a plastic garbage bag in a parking lot on Clyde King Road, the sheriff's office said.

According to a Facebook post, the puppies were still alive and are in the care of Randolph County Animal Control.

Baker was being held on a $25,000 secured bond.
