Ramp closures happening this week for Beltline project
N.C. Department of Transportation contractors are scheduled to close a pair of ramps next week as part of the Interstate 440 Improvements project.
Posted — UpdatedThe ramp from Blue Ridge Road to eastbound Wade Avenue will close for five nights beginning Sunday from 11 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m. for grading on the new ramp. A detour will direct drivers west on Wade Avenue to Edwards Mill Road to turn around and get on eastbound Wade Avenue.
Also on Sunday, from 11 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday, the ramp from I-440 West to westbound Western Boulevard (Exit 2B) will close to allow crews to complete utility work. A detour will lead drivers to exit at Jones Franklin Road (Exit 1C), turn left, and then take the I-440 East back to Western Boulevard.
This work is weather dependent, and the rain date is planned for the following night.
