RALEIGH, N.C. — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Subway restaurant in Raleigh Wednesday.

The owner of the Subway, at 1705 Lake Wheeler Road, said an armed man came in shortly after 8:30 p.m. and demanded money from the safe. At least two employees were there at the time and, because they don't have access to the safe, they gave the robber money from the cash register.

The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, the restaurant owner said.

No shots were fired and no one was injured.
